The long procession
The slow rhythm of gongs, drums and cymbals can be heard from afar. The sound is like an invitation for people in Ban Kong Lom in Wiang Haeng district, the far-flung town bordering Chiang Mai and Shan State in Myanmar, to join the procession for the mass novice ordination ceremony, known as Poi Sang Long.
