Testing the Thai waters
Thailand’s water tourism has never received as much state support as it does now. In 2003, Phuket was announced as one of Asia’s major yachting and marina destinations. A year later, the government decided to revoke import tax for yachts and other types of boats. Investors were then encouraged to build marinas and waterside accommodation.
