Temasek as urban terrarium
Singapore has already been tagged with several catchy monikers — including Lion City, the Little Red Dot and the Fine City. But this island nation, which in pre-colonial days was called Temasek, may well acquire another nickname, “City in a Garden”, if its government’s ongoing attempts to attain environmental sustainability finally bear fruit.
