America continues to make great strides in addressing gender identity as South Dakota lawmakers recently amended legislation that would expect transgender students to use toilets and locker rooms that corresponded with their sex at birth. It is now in the hands of Governor Dennis Daugaard, who has indicated support for the measure, to decide its fate.
