Fifteen years after their first encounter, jewellery designer Kaari Meng finally managed to convince Maria Cepos, owner of Tinsel Trading Company (New York), to let her into the firm’s basement. Equipped with mask and gloves, she spent hours ploughing through the “treasure trove”, which inspired this book on creating modern accessories using vintage textiles.
