History
With the advent of the industrial age and rail travel in Thailand, Hua Hin became a Royal resort destination during the reign of King Rama V as a seaside retreat and escape from the busy city of Bangkok. The Royal Hua Hin Railway station was constructed during this time and is immaculately preserved today as it was in the beginning.

The construction of the Klai Kangwon (Far from worries) Palace by King Rama VII remains as the official Royal Residence to this day, and this has given Hua Hin its very unique reputation and legacy among Thai people. Due to HRM King Adulyadej Bhumibol´s presence, the town shows a real sense of pride. The colonial style railway hotel was built in 1923 by the State Railway Authority and is in operation today as the Centara Sofitel Resort, preserving the past in its original splendour. The Royal Hua Hin Golf Course was opened in 1924 in order for the Royal family to visiting dignitaries.

Hua Hin has many world class golf courses, with more under development. Green fees and other costs are reasonable, in line with the cost of Thailand. The courses and offer outstanding maintenance and services, as can only be provided by the hard working Thai staff. Hua Hin is also home to many world class hotel chains such as the Hilton, Hyatt, Marriot, and Hilton which make it a world class vacation destination.
